Jeff Oney ATC, PA-C is a physician assistant with interest in orthopaedics and sports medicine.
Originally from Southwest Michigan, Jeff graduated from Bridgman HS and went on to complete his undergraduate studies at Western Michigan University, magna cum laude, with a BS in athletic training, minor in biology. After undergraduate studies Jeff worked as graduate assistant/head athletic trainer at Benton Harbor HS where he also earned a Masters of Science degree in exercise and sports medicine from WMU. Jeff went on to earn a Masters of Science of Medicine from WMU in the summer of 2015.
While working as an athletic trainer Jeff provided care and treatment to athletes at various stages of competition including the New England Patriots, WMU athletics and Lake Michigan Admirals professional basketball team. Other athletic training experience includes IncreMedical in Michigan City, IN providing high school athletic training coverage to Michigan City HS, Marquette Catholic HS and New Buffalo HS and Lakeland Physical Therapy providing athletic training coverage for various local high schools in Southwest Michigan. While in PA school Jeff completed multiple clinical rotations including an one month rotation at Steadman Hawkin’s Clinic Denver in Denver, CO.
Jeff’s interest in orthopaedics and sports medicine stems from his time as an athlete in high school and college. He was a varsity letter winner in three sports while at Bridgman HS and played two years of college basketball at Kalamazoo College. He currently stays active with endurance sports and has competed in and finished multiple marathons.Jeff is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery (PAOS) and the Michigan Association for Physician Assistants (MAPA). He lives in Kalamazoo, MI with his wife Katie and their three children.
